More help for senior citizens on the way

It was reported yesterday that Gan Kim Yong is leading another team to Japan to study how to deal with ageing problems and senior citizens. This comes quite soon after Boon Heng’s team went on a similar visit with a similar mission. With two big guns leading teams to Japan, it only shows how serious the govt is on the welfare of the senior citizens. With this additional trip, both Gan Kim Yong and Boon Heng could have a retreat with their teams to concoct some great solutions to help the senior citizens. The seniors can now rest at ease that the govt is taking them seriously.

One thought came to mind without needing to go for a study trip is to consider the income of senior citizens that are mostly out of jobs for 10 to 40 years. Should the govt offer them some kind of income to pay for 3 meals? Some would need a roof over their heads too. And now every one of them would have to pay for the compulsory Medishield Life Insurance. Where are they going to get the money to pay for it?

Maybe I am jumping the gun and there will be good news for the silver hair citizens after the return of Gan Kim Yong. Keep the fingers crossed, grand dads and mums. You will be able to enjoy your twilight years, your golden years bathing in golden light. Though the govt does not believe in free lunch, maybe this time the free lunch will be offered knowing that many would have nothing to live by given their lack of income.

Mr RB, thought not too long someone belittled Jepun saying they are making lots of mistakes.

Why now go and learn from them???

This is the second team. The first team must have found something good but did not find enough. So now sending a second team.

Who said Japan no good?

Whoa........

I am in great spirits today.

As a senior citizen of little means, I can now look forward to really, really golden years.

The only cloud hanging over my silver haired head is this Medishield Life thingy. Where in heaven's name am I to get the mullah to pay for this grand luxury? But when I recalled the passion and the empathy displayed by the PM during the Medishield Life announcement at the NDR, I am confident that perhaps this cover will be given away free to means tested seniors?

Someone however got to pay for it. I humbly suggest that we make all the foreign "talents" in the country pay a small levy towards a Medishield Life for Seniors Fund as a means to repay the country for siphoning out our money and depriving our citizens of their jobs. This will alleviate the anger somewhat of the locals.

So we are paying millions for incompetent officers which had no idea why they were there for.

When the govt says it wants to help you, be very frighten.

The only reason they're doing it is because of the massive numbers of baby boomers turning into old farts everyday. Like redbean and many of the lau ciaus here, I am a baby boomer.

The younger baby boomers are in their 50's or close. Many of them will live beyond 100.

So you young fuckers take note:
1. you'll be taxed out of existence for our upkeep.

2. We have the political numbers. For the next 50 or so years.

3. In that time, you will have to put up with all our uncle/ aunty bullshit. Our bowels will fail. We'll be shitting and pissing on trains and buses. We'll be farting in lifts.

4. Those of us who still drive will langar some of your children :-)

5. We'll be dropping dead in the middle of Orchard Road in broad daylight.

6. We will be scolding you if you don't give up your seat, or fuck off from the lift so we can get our wheelchairs in.

7. The older you get, the less you care about what people think. So rest assured we will be KPKB at everything in public, in the media, on-line and definitely IN YOUR FACE.

8. We will pressure the government to enforce Filial Piety Laws and thus really fuck-up your already stretched finances.

9. We will refuse to accept our age and continue to act like teenagers -- wearing skinny jeans, fitting shirts and listening to rock n roll, while saliva drools from both sides of our mouth.

10. We will be embarrassing you in front of your friends.

So prepare yourself for 50 years of suffering and financial stress.

If you want to help senior citizens, just give money lah!
So simple.
Still must conduct a "study-sightseeing" trip to Japan.

I guess helping Singaporeans is not a core competency of the PAP gahmen.

Matilah,

Excellent comment.

While you are prescient, I am already doing at least 7 of your doomsday scenarios in 2013!

Hehe.

What a disgrace .Study what.We need to go Japan to learn from those who torture our countrymen in the past on how to help our senior citizen.
Our parent never teach us how to take care of senior citizen?
Sinkie got no brain?Learn from Anonoe?Go to their karaoke and hug their onna better.

It is good to hear that more help is coming to seniors....hope X-mas comes early.

One suggestion is that any help must be simple and straight forward for seniors.

Don't subject seniors to filling forms or interviews just to get helps. Worst is to move from one department to another.

It should be easy "walk-thru" types like MEDIFREE LIFE where seniors 65 and above get free basic C/B2 classes healthcare.

All helps will be compulsory and subject to mean testing.

Anon 11.59am .......

If the govt really appreciate the past contributions of the seniors and love the people, we should not subject the seniors to mean testing if they want go to the C/B2CLASS regardless of their financial status....

Excellent. Care to share which ones?

Feel free to share your own "gross out" and annoying habits, and I've thought of a few more:

1. Wiping or flicking boogers and other bodily secretions onto seats, tables and walls

2. Scratching one's anus, then inspecting the contents on the finger. Best done at a foodcourt or restaurant.

3. "Stealing" tissues, napkins -- anything that is available for "free"

4. Being cranky and rude

5. Slow and forgetful -- especially at checkout at stores-- e.g. slowly count groceries, argue with cashier, fiddle around for wallet, spectacles, discount coupon..etc mumble and grumble... as the queue behind grows longer and longer, and people become impatient and pissed off. Epic lah!

6. Calling 999 everytime you spot some "young punk" doing something you think should be ILLEGAL

7. Clogging toilet by attempting to flush adult diaper.

8. Disregarding any sense of hygiene or decency when discarding soiled diaper.

9. Not using diaper at all. Just unload whenever nature calls

10. Forget to zip up fly. Let cock and balls hang out for full public display. Works well in the vicinity of schools, especially girls schools

11. Go to beach often. Let the sagging tits hang out (both men and women) for the public to admire. Good for family outings and reunions.

12. Don't bathe often, nor change clothes. Allow the food, urine and fecal stains to "mature" to achieve that "old person's smell".

13. Everywhere you go, ask for "pensioner discount". If don't have, make a big deal. Scold the people in the immediate vicinity. The call the cops to complain ;-)

Remember kids, if you're not fucking to shit out more babies, or if the influx of foreigners stops, then the society will start to age as the median age of population increases.

Revenge Of The Oldies :-))

It is very clear PAP gahmen do not know how to help Singaporeans.
That's why must learn from countries like Japan.
I guess it's going to be a year long study.
Just like NatCON took one year.

Why Singaporeans so stupid?
Keep voting for a gahmen that do not know how to help Singaporeans.

Why go all the way to Japan?
Why not Gan Kim Yong stay in Singapore?
And study how the PAP government look after one 90 year old grandfather.

You pay some super talent $3m only for him to go and learn from someone being paid $300k.

The more helps are given
the more scary it becomes.

They helped You to Stop at Two
and they helped You To end the
Life of foetuses so that your family
have more to share.
Now You have too much, they help
to bring in foreigners to share.

DO YOU WANT THE RULERS TO HELP?
