needed them to paste on her face to look good.

The boh tak cheh CEO sacked the foreign talent with the Ph D
immediately, and the HR too. She said she would take her back and the Ph D
candidate in twenty years time when she is going international, but not now.
The HR has to go for fear that she would employ a foreign masters graduate to wash
dishes as well.

For a minute I thot you were talking about Singaporeans voting for PAPig professionals;
paying them millions in salary;
just to sell koyok (I mean kueh tutu) in the HDB estates.

Not just doctorate. But also willing to accept much lower pay. And of course much lower than the minimum (or rather a decent pay) a Sinkie degree holder would expect.
Because there are so many cheaper ones in the whole, wide world to choose from, tio bo?
Which is OK because Sinkieland don't have a minimum wage law.
So cheaper, younger for sure but also good?? Perhaps.
In Sinkieland, ministers may be mediocre but very expensive because there is a scarcity of talent.
Just look at the strongest opposition, and you will realise how scarce Sinkie political talents are.
Now in economics 101, when food was scarce, like during the Japanese occupation in Singapore, even poor quality essential foodstuff also very expensive, tio bo? Don't believe, just ask those elders who had been through it.
So hope those who still don't get it now understand why ministers are so expensive, and foreign talent PMETs can be so much cheaper.
A matter of supply and demand.
There is always a greater supply of PAP voters than opposition voters in every election.
Just like greater supply of goods made it cheaper, greater supply of PAP voters made opposition cheaper (No power so less or no value).
With the passive sinkies, the Phd would not be sack, in the now era, bosses boast about their Phd workers, if they are locals the better, the inferior thingy do not come in.
Even when the Phds do not perform they are still kept like pets to be shown off, a once upon a time very big company did that, leaving the Hongkie at the helm but took all his responsibility away, a living waking specimen.
To employ a Phd is like having a trophy on the shelf, the CEO's don't mind dishing out the dough.

Basically, in simple market failure and market structure analysis, synthesis and application, it is simply a form of market failure by definition as the quantity produced is not at price = marginal cost. It is an allocative inefficiency by definition and results in in dead weight welfare loss in social benefits.

I recalled that a country which is much bigger than Singapore, and whose former PM was a Unionist but his excellent performance did improve the economy that he stayed for about ten years before he stepped down.
Leader like him may be equipped with Phd from Cambridge but he was qualified for the job as PM simply because he knew the ground better than anyone else.
Whereas in Singapore, it is a different story...Uniquely Singapore!
Isn't it wasteful to use a busy, successful arsehole surgeon to sell koyok and tutu keuh to HDB heartlanders in Punggol East?
Especially when there is already a shortage of doctors in Singapore.
And a very long waiting list to see arsehole surgeons in public hospitals.
With this type of arsehole planning and thinking.

If you run a telco company, you will want more subscribers - whether they are locals or foreigners does not matter. There are many business which the gov is involved where the only way is to (1) increase the population to substain the profit (2) increase the costs for the existing subscribers (3) cut the management pay and dividends. They will go for 1 and 2 but never 3. This is the world we are living in. THe only way to change that is to have smarter voters.

They are many fake Talent actually use us as stepping stone suck our skills and knowledge while we undertake job from the organization that employed them with cheap salary where we are unable to survival. U have your choice not to wake up, let your destiny charted by others!
Some people are hoping that by sending in more oppo down rd, somebody would gradually change to be citizens oriented than just pure greed, money and whatever opulent, decadent and outlandish. From observation, even if there are some changes, they are likely cosmetics and superficial. It is almost impossible for policy makers who grew up, surrounded and submerged in luxuries and opulence every day to truly understand the plight of common folks. Opportunities in the past twenty three years may already been lost. Many deep seated problems have sunken roots. Leadership without real universal general acceptance and genuine recognition and support would not be able to move any stone in such attempts, much less galvanise the population towards common causes and directions. They are bound to fail. Cracks are so huge it is insane to believe one can try to glue over them.
Opportunities are there, for foreigners. Look at how happy are the foreigners here and a long queue waiting to come in.
