Fee hikes in pre schools and also hikes for non citizens in schools

The cost of pre schools will go up next year in the two top preschools, the NTUC My First Skool and PAP Community Foundation or PCF. The hikes range from $28 in PCF and $34 in My First Skool for childcare and $14 and $48 for infant care respectively.  However, the upper limits of $720 and $1275 for pre school and childcare will still be in force. Industry average fees for the two categories of care are $900 and $1343 per month.

School fees for Singaporeans will remain unchanged but PRs and non citizens would have to pay more as the govt step up effort to differentiate citizens from PRs and foreigners.  Singapore citizens will pay $5 and $6 per month for primary and secondary school fees.

Children of PRs and non citizens will pay $550  per month for primary education and $800 for secondary education on top of a miscellaneous fee at $6.50 for primary, $10.00 for secondary and $13.50 for pre university students.

The school fees for govt schools are still very low compared to private international schools that charged between $25,000 to $40,000 annually.

RB

Tiok. So even with fee hikes for govt schools, in terms of fees, they are still very much the lesser of 2 evils as compared to private international schools, tio bo?

Remember, Sinkies will always think or choose between the lesser of 2 evils, be it school fees, voting during elections, or whatever lah.

And with that, PAP will know how to make Sinkies think or choose what PAP want them to think or choose, so that PAP will win big big all the time lah.

yes, govt school fees very cheap.
but redbean and other daft Sinkies never think.
Singapore govt schools very lousy.
After returning back from school, Singapore children have to take tuition lessons to understand what they have just been taught in govt. schools.

real cost of s'pore govt schools =
school fees +
tuition fees +
tuition time (children) +
parents' time (to check up on the quality of tutors)

Some more we pay million dollar salary for an untrained education Minister to "improve" our school system.
The Singapore Education Ministry is just a 'training school" for new PAP Ministers.
First there was Tharman Shamugaratnam
Then Heng Swee Keat.
And now Ng Chee Meng and Ong Ye Kung.
Do you think Ng Chee Meng and Ong Ye Kung got any qualifications or training in Education?

But never mind.
70% of Singaporeans support this type of "try my luck" type of government.

Singaporeans and that includes RB are never satisfied. These people are always picking holes in everything. Just be thankful for the hardworking PAP government. 70% are happy. That is all that matters.

Anon 11:02 a.m.

It's not what you think, RB think, I think, or Dr Chee Soon Juan think.

It's what 70% think on 11 Sep and after that, what Lee Hsien Loong think, OK?

We voted for the school fee increase ... hooray!

We voted for the untrained Education Millionaires-Ministers ... hooray!

Don't complain.
We voted for this.

Not interested whether 5 lolla or 500 lolla ,
hike or no hike.
Me do not feel the need to send toddler to pre school.
Preschool or not, daft mean daft.Putting a piglet on the tree branches early does not mean it can be train to fly like kookoo.
Kiasu dafts should stop abusing and not to torture the little kids.
Should consider to let them learn their mother tongue from their ah kong ah mma instead.
From my observation ...sending them to preschool will only turn them into angmokia earlier.
Should raise the fees higher to stop abuse.
Like COE the higher COE mean lesser vehicles on road.Higher hikes can prevent child abuse.

I Increase! You Increase! They Also Increase!

Yes! Increase! Increase! Increase!

But, fear not worry not.

Just look around you, people are still smiling.

People are not complaining!

There is NO or very very very little KPKBs!

I suppose this is Singapore!

Cheers.

Fees increase for non-Singaporeans should be more. The revised fees is still very low compared to international schools'.

BTW, if you even think that the Singapore education is quality stuff, you are dead wrong.
Our system is not only lousy, it shackles your brain, causes you to doubt your capability and makes you think in terms of model answers. It's no wonder our system churns out drones of unthinking citizens who keep voting for pap.

"We voted for the untrained Education Millionaires-Ministers ... hooray!"

It is okay and safe to put new, untrained and untested PAP Ministers into the Education Ministry.
Whatever damage the Ministers do to the schools can be undone and undamaged with more private tuition.
And it's all paid for by Singaporean parents ... keeping the reserves untouched for more Temasek investments.

We voted for this.
We are getting the arse fucking we deserve.

Cannot say like that. What about the 30%? Do they deserve it? And maybe they got even worse.

Of course the 30% also deserve it.
They deserve it because 70% of their friends, relatives and family voted PAP.

GST hike will be next.

Akan datang.

So what will smart Sinkies do? Make more money of course, and the more they made, the less they will feel the bad effects of the hike.

And best is to be billionaire, or at least multi millionaire, or be minister lah. Then one will feel absolutely nothing about hikes, no matter what kind.

Anonymous said...

First the gain, now the pain.

My advice to the 70% is start buttering your arse-hole, because it will bleed.

The debt collection is just beginning and wil soon be coming in fast and furious. But of course these are things thought of years ago and not yet implemented when GE 2015 was held. The timing is just perfect.

Usually the most needy and "helpless" enrolled their children in such centres.

How often YEW see a millionaire or billionaire enroll their child in PCF centres?

How to trust people who "GO AFTER" the most needy and "helpless" right after the "69 (%) ERECTION"?

The needy and poor's demand for such services is most INELASTIC bcos there is NO OTHER SUBSTITUTE!

Actually they have (in hind sight ) but too little support ( only 30.1%) was given so the majority is getting the needy and poor screwed, FIRST IN THE LINE ......

Why must THEY always go after the most needy FIRST?

How often have they gone after the RICH, multi millionaires and billionaires?

DEFINITELY NOT with estate duty EXEMPTION, right?

Tax the poor and needy to subsidise the RICH?

Way to go!

69.9% must be "VERY RICH"?

But another statistics show MORE THAN 50% sinkies living from pay cheque to pay cheque .......

Ha ha

The numbers don't square?

Some sinkies CHOSE to be SCREWED "VOLUNTARILY "?

And the PAPIGS "obliged right after ERECTION " ......?

Anonymous said...

The bigger the mandate, the stronger the erection and the more painful the result thereafter.

But some sinkies just love the pain. They say, no pain no gain.

What can we say or do?

Anonymous said...

A small increase to the school fees is no big deal. Why complain so much ? You have voted in this government with a 70% mandate. We are in safe hand and the team will excel and make us all happy. You cannot have better team than the one we have now. Please people let them do their job and grow the GDP for the benefit for all of us. Go PAP go.

Is it true and fair to say:

PAP represents and protects the rich people, business owners and Aliens.

WP represents and protects the middle class i.e. the PMETs

SDP represents and protects the poor, LGBTs, single mothers and all other groups of people that PAP and WP does not want to represent in parliament.

Is the above true and fair?

Anonymous said...

Instead of increasing subsidies for citizens, they are increasing the fees for PRs and foreigners.
Are citizens suppose to feel better because non-citizens are havaing it worse.
I can only see that the Govt is receiving more money than giving out

Anonymous said...

"You cannot have better team than the one we have now. "
Anon 5:02 p.m.

Exactly. But that is also the problem, and a big problem. So I don't really agree with you that we are in safe hand and the team will excel and make us all happy.

After GE 2015, the needy and poor sinkies in the 69.9% can only blame themselves to be screwed and they cannot hope for the alternative voices to help them out because many in the opposition have been demolished and annihilated politically, emotionally, mentally and even financially.

After all the sacrifices after GE 2011, finally GE 2015 arrived but alas, the alternatives have been routed ( caused by many defectors in the 69.9% ).

Most of the oppositions are decimated with barely 20+% of popular votes. How to muster and find the money, time, energy to go on indefinitely. ..... ? The opposition families, children, elderly also need to eat, pocket money to go school, fees to pay, money to buy books for the children, medical expenses for their old folks etc etc .....

Even some bloggers quitted the scene and stop writing anymore. Some if not many editors of social media also threw in the towels.

Going forward, the needy, old and poor in the 69.9% have to more or less fend for themselves against any PAPIGS' "big time screwing".

Botak said GST is to help the poor. Well, bring it on then. The poor needs PAPIGS "help". The more the better. The higher the better cos by botak's and papigs' ( insane logic and ) arguments, the higher the GST, the more "help" the poor will receive!

Any economist worth his salt knows very well GST is a REGRESSIVE TAX that burdens and harms the poor's financial well-being disproportionately.

After GE 2015, there is no more or hardly any voice left to speak out for the poor in the 69.9%.

The STARK REALITY is the POOR in the 69.9% have to stand on their own two feet and speak up for themselves, if they are able to in the first place being the "silent majority".

This is life!

YEW GET WHAT YEW SOWED.......

Those pathetic motherfuckers can't even vote for themselves.
You think they can speak up for themselves?
The faster they die, the better ... since they are PAP voters.
Let PAP look after them.

After GE 2015, the last chance to have a decent alternative voice is lost ( 99.99% forever ).

The price to pay to be an alternative voice is too HEAVY and HIGH with almost no returns. ......

After GE 2015, who still want to join the opposition cause and can be even a minimal effective force?

Pls KEE CHIU ....... !

See!

Nobody!

The buffer and body pad of the opposition ( for the poor, needy etc ) is kaput.

The needy and poor in the 69.9% have to face ( and take on ) the might of the PAPIGS "directly " to safe guard and protect their own interests .....

The die is cast!

There is no turning back.

The better ones ( in society ) are unlikely to stand up in numbers ( after GE 2015 ). Many are likely to seek out a more "humane" society to settle down while they can.......

Anonymous said...

Lai Goa already said they self-CHEQUE on themselves.

As and when they need more, just self issue CHEQUE .....

And the poor and needy in the 69.9% have resoundingly given the go ahead......

Time to "UNDERSTAND" what ownself cheque ownself means .....

The poor and needy in the 69.9% deserve the self-cheque garment ( and all the screwing in the next 5 years ).

redbean.

So what?
As long as PAP Millionaires can afford the new price, this is all that matters.
Because 70% of Singaporeans say so.

Anon 9pm, I fully agreed with you.

The "POOR" cardboard collectors who don't even tell the minister to FO when he said they were doing it for exercise and to pass time.

The "POOR" tissue paper sellers who don't even stand up to people saying not all tissue paper sellers are needy.

The "POOR" jobless pmets who don't speak up when foreigners come to steal their jobs and still voting for anti-singaporean hiring policies.

These "POOR" citizens deserve to be "POOR". Their spines have degenerated and they have no more dignity left.
